Golf ties for 13th of 22

Staff Report

Misenheimer - The UNCP golf team finished tied for 13th with Presbyterian College at the Johnny Palmer/Old North Invitational last week.

This was the first tournament for the Braves this year and included 22 colleges and universities.
Chris Helms led the UNCP attack with a 153, shooting a 77-76. John Thompson finished one stroke behind Helms at 154, while Greg Dobbins managed a 155.

UNCP’s Mark Long improved two strokes between days, shooting a 79-77 and finishing with a 156. Tommy Baker shot a 173 for the Braves.

UNCP returns to action on Sept. 29-30 at the Cougar Classic in Columbus, Georgia. They will tee off at the Bull Creek Golf Course.
