When the Lady Braves softball team finishes their preseason training, they have three goals to work toward.

1- Break the school record, 14, for wins in a season. The Lady Braves, have done that three times before.

2- Finish in the top half of the PBC, which is a tough conference.

3-Top off the season with a winning record.

Second season Head Coach Steve Johnson can look to some key players to help the team.
In freshman Nicole McCorkle’s first game last season, she came away with a no-hitter and had the Lady Braves off to a great start.

One of Coach Johnson’s hot picks for some infield defense is going to come from freshman Kelly Jo Fields. Fields is the starting short stop for the Lady Braves this year.

With only three seniors on the team this year, Khrystal Holder needs to be a key leader to help the Lady Braves meet their goals. Holder starts for the Lady Braves in the outfield in just about any position needed.

Coach Johnson believes all the team’s goals this year can be met. Their strengths are their lightning speed and unstoppable defense.

Even though the team only has three seniors, all the upper classmen are looking for great showings from the seven freshmen on the team this year.

With freshman Brandy Reece behind the plate and freshman Amanda Busch on the mound, this team could be one of the top contenders for the Peach Belt Title this year.
