Dr. Jesse Peters appointed dean of the Honors College
Dr. Jesse Peters, associate professor of English, has been appointed dean of the University Honors College by Dr. Allen C. Meadors, chancellor.
Peters replaces Dr. Carolyn Thompson who moved to Tennessee with her spouse, Dr. Roger Brown, who became chancellor of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga on July 1.
Meadors announced the appointment in a June 29 e-mail to faculty and staff. Peters will become dean July 1.
The Honors College is a community within the university promoting the scholarly growth of outstanding students who are provided interdisciplinary educational opportunities that enhance the general curriculum. Their opportunities include selected general education courses, small interdisciplinary seminars, cultural and service programs, and shared residential facilities with other honors students.
