300 photos submitted for 36 hours project

More than 300 photos were submitted to Student Involvement and Leadership for the 36 hours photo project that focused on a day in the life of UNCP.

The 36 hours photo project took place from noon Feb. 7, until midnight Feb. 8.

According to Michael Severy, director of Student Involvement and Leadership, the purpose of the project is to help celebrate the 125th anniversary of UNCP, which will be celebrated on March 14, by showing how much has changed since the university was first founded and what makes the campus unique among others.

The photos vary in cate- gory, focusing on academ- ics, arts, athletics, student organizations and everyday events.

The photos are being catalogued according to date and time and will be posted on Dipity, a free digital timeline website.

Photos that did not have captions or times listed will be posted on Facebook and Flickr by Feb. 24.

"I think it would be neat to try try this project every year," Severy said. "There's a lot that goes on in Pembroke that people don't get to see."

"It's very impressive to see the number of people who've made submissions," Severy said.
