Barack Obama supporters will have their chance to rally after President Bill Clinton’s début, with actress and singer Tatyana Marisol Ali coming to campus April 11 to speak on behalf of Obama’s campaign.
Ali has been on the Obama campaign for months canvassing from city to city, knocking on doors, making phone calls, talking to people and answering questions in order to increase voter turnout, according to Ali’s MySpace page.
A Harvard University graduate with a major in political science and Afro-American Studies, Ali is best known as Ashley Banks from the ‘90s television series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Over the last 20 years she has accumulated credits in both stage and televison productions. She has both film roles and a second album in the works.
Ali will speak from 10-11 a.m. in the Moore Hall auditorium. The event is public and sponsored by SGA.
“This is so important. I encourage you to get involved and volunteer,” Ali said in her myspace blog on the campaign.
“History is in the making. This is our country, it’s time to let your voice be heard,” she continued.
