Transcript fee increases

As the semester closes, many students are requesting official copies of their transcripts from the Office of the Registrar and need to be aware of the additional $2 charge.
The price increased from $3 to $5 this past summer.
According to University Registrar Sara Brackin, the increase was necessary just for the university to “break even” with the cost of printing transcripts.
She said that most schools charge at least $5, because “transcript paper is expensive.”
Brackin said she tries “to cut cost for students” and regrets times like this when she must increase charges.
Before the fee to drop/add a class was removed, students were required to pay $2.
Brackin added that in the past two years the price of caps and gowns has increased without raising the price for students.
Brackin’s advice for saving money when ordering transcripts is to not be “frivolous” with the number you request.
