Restraining order and marijuana charges occupy campus police By Daniel ColeStaff Writer On March 29, the Department of Police and Public Safety was called to Pine Hall in response to a domestic disturbance. This prompted the victim to take out a warrant and restraining order on her former boyfriend, according to Detective Ed Locklear of the Department of Police and Public Safety. The victim was ushered by the police to the magistrate’s office, and a warrant was taken out on the boyfriend, who was later arrested. Det. Sgt. Ed Locklear teaches a R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) class for women only, which counts as a physical education credit. The class is not in the catalog, but those interested can contact Det. Locklear at (910) 521-6235. Possession of marijuana The officers also noticed that the four students in the room exhibited signs of being under the influence of the drug, according to Locklear. All four students were charged with illegal use of a controlled substance. |
