Jacobs, Sledge vie for SGA president By Scott Ammons
Both Jacobs and Sledge, have served the students of UNCP in various leadership roles since beginning their academic career.
"We need to have less SGA sponsored activities and more organization activities with SGA supporting them," said Jacobs, whose platform issues are increasing school spirit, student retention and making the SGA more about student issues. Junior Terrell Jones is also on the ticket. Sledge’s list of student and community involvement is just as impressive. At present she is an SGA senator, a member of the Campus Activities Board and the Student Alumni Association. "There are certain key issues that we as SGA haven't pushed, such as a book rental program, housing and student program," said Sledge about her reasons for running. Sledge’s running mate is sophomore Leila Hicks. Students can vote on March 28 in the U.C. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 4-6 p.m. The polls will reopen one last time on March 29 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. |
