Teacher faces allegation By Lisa Tyndall UNCP’s Music Department violin teacher faces charges of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. According to a police report on Jan. 6, Yura Teodor Alexov was accused of giving alcohol to students in October during a trip to Avery County. Kelsey R. Arrufat, of Hope Mills, said she and a 17-year-old girl sampled wine Alexov purchased at a vineyard during the trip. Fernando Arrufat, Kelsey’s father, filed the complaint with Hope Mills police, after Kelsey told her parents about the incident. Alexov has been released on $500 unsecured bail. Associate Professor and Chair of the Music Department Janita Byars, was unable to comment. |
