Search committee named for provost
and
vice chancellor for academic affairs
The search continues for a new provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs for UNCP to replace Roger G. Brown who will become chancellor of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga on July 1.
According to a message to faculty and staff from Donna Gooden Payne, university counsel and assistant to the chancellor for executive affairs, the members of the search committee are:
Dr. Thomas Leach, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and chair of the search committee
Dr. Breeden Blackwell, board of trustees member
Dr. Alex Chen, associate vice chancellor for international programs
Ms. Jackie Clark, vice chancellor for enrollment management
Mr. Neil Hawk, vice chancellor for business affairs
Dr. Diane Jones, vice chancellor for student affairs
Dr. Charles Tita, director of continuing and distance education
Dr. William Campbell, professor and chair of the Mathematics & Computer Science Department
Dr. Paul Flowers, professor and chair of the Chemistry and Physics Department
Dr. Jane Huffman, associate professor and chair of the Education Department
Dr. John Parnell, professor in the School of Business
Dr. Jesse Peters, assistant professor in the English, Theatre, and Languages Department and chair of the Faculty Senate

The provost position has been advertised in The Chronicle of Higher Education.
