Faculty and students’ items stolen from gym

By Amanda Hickey
Staff Writer

Students received an email from the listserv on April 1 warning that there had been thefts in the gym and to bring as little as possible when going to work out.

Since approximately mid-March there have been four thefts in the gym, according to Detective Ed Locklear of campus police.

“There were three that actually happened in one day, on March 28,” Locklear said.

Stolen items have included wallets, cell phones and keys.

Locklear advises students to bring as few items as possible to the gym.

I’ve asked them to let students put their personal property, like keys if they need to bring keys, to put them behind the desk instead of on the shelf. Take as less as possible to the gym when you have to work out,” Locklear said.
