BraveWeb, the internal student information based system used by both faculty and students, was shut down early Feb. 9 by Univeristy Computing and Information Services because of internal problems.
Dr. Maurice Mitchell, associate vice chancellor for information resources, said that UCIS first noticed a problem on the evening of Feb. 8 and were unsure what kind of problem they were dealing with. By early Wednesday morning, UCIS realized the problem was significant enough to warrant shutting down both the student and faculty sections of BraveWeb, said Mitchell.
Mitchell and UCIS are unsure at this point exactly what the problem is within BraveWeb.
Mitchell said, “It is like looking for a needle in hay stack.” At press time BraveWeb was still down for both faculty and students. |
