Holiday party set

By Lisa Tyndall
Staff Writer

You know the jingle “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”? Well all you holiday lovers, Santa is on his way to UNCP. Wednesday, Dec. 3, Pembroke is having its annual Holiday Party. The festivities will begin promptly at 10 a.m., with something for everyone to partake in.

Miss UNCP Robyn Baker is scheduled to MC the event, with performances from the gospel group Voices of Serenity, along with some faculty and staff. Also, the long awaited announcement for the employee of the year will be shared.

If the refreshments and entertainment don’t get you in the holiday mood, the gift of giving will. There will be a $50 cash giveaway, as well as a giveaway for a dinner for two at Mikoto Express. To be eligible you must register at the information booth in the U. C. by 9 a.m., the day of the party.

The Art Department usually comes out and sells their Christmas décor, but plans are still not definite.
Cynthia Oxendine, U.C. director, was asked if she was looking forward to the holiday party.

“Yes, I am looking forward to it,” Oxendine said with a smile. “People seem to enjoy it.”

So if you are a partyer and exude holiday spirit, then the Holiday Party is exactly where you will want to be.
