Animals ‘live here too’ at University Village Apartments

As construction continues with the University Village Apartments, more and more of the animals that inhabited the old intramural area are showing themselves in waste areas and front doors of the apartments.

Animals such as foxes, rabbits and mice are knocking over trashcans, scratching at doors and basically roaming throughout the complex. These rodents haven’t been found in resident apartments, but are seen outside the buildings.

“ The animals used to live here too,” Resident Administrator Kelly Taylor said. “We’ll have exterminators sometime in October.”

Although the animals pose no immediate problem, residents are still bothered by the trash in the corridors and animals greeting them at their doorsteps.

Michael Cremer, resident advisor of Building One said: “No one has come to me complaining about anything, so I don’t see anything to worry about.”
