The UNCP Bookstore
is hosting its sixth Annual Halloween Costume Contest on Friday,
Oct.31 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
This event allows
students, faculty and staff to participate. You can come in any
time and the judges will critique you according to the costume’s
creativity and effort.
“Anybody
can come in wearing a costume they bought from Wal-Mart,”
the Bookstore’s Assistant Manager, Donna Dial-Jacobs said.
“I like
laughing at the different costumes,” Dial-Jacobs said, “Two
years ago I was baking cookies, and turned around to see a man,
wearing a thong, dancing in my face.”
It is also recommended
that you act out a skit according to the character you are portraying.
This can give you a better chance at winning one of the fabulous
prizes.
The first place
prize will be your choice of free textbooks for the spring 2004
semester, a diploma frame or a $100 bookstore gift certificate.
The second place prize will be a UNCP sweatshirt and a Halloween
treat. The third place prize will consist of a polar fleece throw
and a Halloween treat.
There will be free refreshments, fresh baked cookies and drinks
given out to participants and non-participants while the contest
is taking place.
Come dressed
for fun and get into the Halloween spirit. |
