Larceny, recovery of stolen items

Tuesday, Feb. 17-A UNCP librarian reported that two laptop computers were missing from the Sampson-Livermore Library. The Armada and Compaq laptops are valued at $1,000 each.
A housekeeper notified Campus Police that they located two laptop computers in front of the main entrance to Lumbee Hall in a trash bag. The laptop computers were the same laptop computers stolen from the Sampson-Livermore Library.

Injury to real property

Wednesday, Feb. 18- Campus police received a call in reference to property damage at the Village Apartments. The officer noticed that the carpet was stained and appeared to be bleached in certain areas, the wood frame beds were broken, the mattresses were stained and damaged and the bathroom door was damaged and hanging off the hinges. Estimated damages total $1,850.

Arrest for breaking and entering

Wednesday, Feb. 18-Three men were charged on a state citation for breaking and entering. The incident occurred at the Village Apartments.

Driving while impaired

Sunday, Feb. 22-While patrolling the Village Apartments, Campus Police noticed a vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway. They stopped to advise the driver to park in a parking space. Campus Police noticed that the driver’s eyes were glassy and bloodshot. The driver was charged on a state level for driving while impaired after he failed a sobriety test. The driver’s Alco-sensor level was 0.25.
