UNCP
celebrates National Library Week April 18-24
National Library
Week is April 18-24, and the Sampson-Livermore Library has scheduled
several events, including its annual book sale and a poetry/prose
reading.
Library Week
is also “fine free” week. All fines are forgiven for
books returned during the week.
The annual Library
Book Sale begins April 19 and ends April 21. Hours are 9 a.m.-7
p.m.
There will be
a half-price sale on April 22 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Accounting
Students Association establishes book scholarship
The Accounting
Students Association established a $500 scholarship on March 24
to provide relief from high textbook prices.
Funds will go
to an accounting student, who is in good academic standing at the
university and demonstrates financial need. The $500 annual scholarship
will be available at the campus Bookstore in amounts of $250 per
semester.

Sampson
Livermore Library’s annual fundraiser is April 23
“Books,
Barbeque and Bluegrass” will be held at 6 p.m., April 23 in
the Main Reading Room of the library.
Sponsored by
the Friends of the Library, the annual fundraiser will benefit an
endowed scholarship for the University Honors College, an unrestricted
scholarship and a textbook scholarship.
The cost is
$50 per person and attendance is limited to 100. For tickets, call
