The SGA elections for the 2004 - 2005 school year will be held on March 23 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. in the U.C. On March 24 they will be held from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

The candidates for this year’s elections include Vanessa Jones, Andrea Miyagi and Daniel Locklear for SGA President.

Along with the presidential candidates, their running mates will be Anthony Hunt, Scott Ammons and Brad Trogden.

Current treasurer Chib Thao will be running for the same position.

Current SGA President Nadean Hafner will be running for Senior Senator.

Dominique Cooper, Chris Adams, Gregory Selph, Siphoria Wrighten and Broch Clinton are set to run for Junior Senators.

Sophomore senator candidates are Tamikka Gilmore, Dominique Mack, Shalasha Locklear, Kyle Ring and Cherokee Anderson.

Many of these candidates may have been seen around campus asking students to sign their petitions. The petitions were meant to show that the candidates are serious about running and to try to gain support from the general student body. The deadline for these petitions was on March 5.

The SGA is a political organization here to represent and safeguard the interests of UNCP’s students.
