There’s a new place to eat on the south end of campus, Café a la Carte had its grand opening on Sept. 22 in the Oxendine science building’s courtyard.

Raffle tickets were handed out for prizes like blankets, coffee mugs, t-shirts and munch money vouchers. UNCP student Lee Whitworth was lucky enough to win $50 in munch money.
Many students stopped by the café to take advantage of the free food being served, including deli sandwiches, fresh fruit, Starbucks coffee and cold drinks.
For a lot of students, it’s difficult to walk from Oxendine to the bookstore for something to eat. Now with the café in business students will not have to rush across campus.
“There’s lots of variety and the sandwiches are really good. I found the same high quality as in the UC cafeteria or Bert’s,” Mass Communications Professor Dr. Anthony Curtis said. “It’s very convenient to have service at this end of the campus. Both the convenient location and the food selection are great.”
Café a la Carte is open from 7:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
