Tony Award winning singer and actress Betty Buckley dazzled the crowd on the evening of Sept. 16 at the Givens Performing Arts Center.

“Singing is my art, and songs are my paintings, and I am presenting them to you,” Buckley told the audience about her collection of songs.

Buckley’s performance was astonishing. She was able to relate with the diverse audience through her various songs about living life, and embracing its pitfalls as well as its triumphs.

Buckley won a Tony Award for her portrayal of Grizabella in “Cats.” She was nominated for another Tony for her performance in “Triumph Of Love,” according to her official website.

Her newest album “Stars and The Moon: Betty Buckley Live at The Donmar,” received a 2002 Grammy nomination.
