2005 Homecoming King and Queen crowned

Chris Adams from Newark, N.J., and Ivory Bouknight from Sanford, N.C. were crowned on Feb. 5 as 2005 Homecoming King and Queen after a record turnout of 844 votes. 
In the Jones Athletic Center on Feb. 5 during the halftime of the men’s basketball game the king and queen were crowned in front of over 500 fans.
All of the contestants were escorted out to the middle of the court as the results were getting prepared.
Adams, a junior music industry major, said, “I worked very hard at this, and I wanted to accomplish something, which I did, and it feels great.” Runner up to Adams was Treco Jackson followed by Odell Brown in third place.
Bouknight, a junior education major, beat out five other young women to be crowned 2005 Homecoming Queen.
“Wow, this is really emotional for me right now,” said Bouknight. “This feels really good.”
Kelly Velez was runner up followed by Jennifer McNeil, Shannell Hinchy and Rachel Suddarth. |
