WNCP TV has new ‘hip’ feel

Those people tuning in to cable channel 6
on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. are getting a surprise. WNCP TV and WNCP News are back on the
air for another year, but this time viewers will
be treated to new shows that will have a new
look and a new feel to them.

“Our first live show was great!” said Mike
Decinti of the Mass Communications
Department. “With 80 percent of the staff
first-time students to the show, I could not
be happier with the way their first show went.
Everyone has their own ideas and they are excited about the show,” he said.

In the past, the WNCP News show was a conservative and “no-nonsense” program. The biggest change will be giving the show a more MTV-feel to try and attract a larger, “hipper” college audience.

“Did You Know That? with Gary Rodgers” puts a new spin on the typical in-studio interview. Rodgers said he was excited and “overjoyed” when told he could have his own show. He said that he did not want to follow the pattern of typical guest interviews that has been done so many times in the past. Instead, he wanted to take interviews in a new direction and try something different.

On an earlier show a guest was asked “What three things would you want to have if you were stranded on a desert island?” The use of such atypical questions should make for a very interesting time for both guests and viewers.
