Friends of the Library prepare for annual fund raiser

Friends of the Library is sponsoring “Springtime Showcase at the Library” on April 21, including live and silent auctions, entertainment and dinner.

Funds received from the benefit will aid the Friends of the Library, including a scholarship fund established in 2003.

The benefit will feature the musical talents of UNCP students; Robyn Grace Baker (Miss UNCP 2003), Jessica Ortiz-Carrero (Miss UNCP 2004), Morgan Hunt (Miss UNCP 2005), and  Jorgiana Martin, (Miss UNCP 2006) and the UNCP Jazz Ensemble.

Dinner will consist of enticing food stations, desserts, and beverages. 

“We would very much appreciate your helping making this benefit evening a success by donating an item or items for our live and silent auctions. We would like to offer at the auctions gift certificates for goods or services; items such as jewelry or gift baskets; tickets to upcoming athletic or entertainment event, vacation or overnight accommodation/travel opportunities; or other gifts you may be able to donate,” says Lillian Brewington, government documents/special collections librarian.

The benefit will begin at 6 p.m. with the program starting at 8 p.m. Business attire is required.
