Cafeteria sponsors special events By Alan Chase On Valentine's Day the café will host a special dinner for students. The dinner will be "just like at a restaurant," says Goldie Edwards, marketing supervisor. The café plans to cover each table with red and white-checkered tablecloths, and wrap silverware in napkins. "When students walk into the café, hosts and hostesses will seat them," said Edwards. Waiters and waitresses will take drink, entrée, and dessert orders from each student. Each student will then be served their drink and food at the table, says Edwards. Students will have the choice of two meats, vegetables, rolls, a dessert, drinks and a salad bar. Students will only be allowed one serving just like on "premium" nights in the café, according to Edwards. Edwards says students will still need to either use their cards or cash to pay for dinner and guests are welcome to attend. The café is looking into having some entertainment that night as well. This is the first time the café has served students at their seats. Home Cooking Lunch Students dropped off recipes at the café to be served Feb. 8 during lunch, says Goldie Edwards, marketing supervisor. The café will use the same ingredients in the recipe to cook the food. This is a joint venture between SGA and the café. It is a part of the Sodexho Campus Services "entertainment series," says Edwards. The company hosts one event each month. |
