Free tea or lemonade for students at Papa Bill’s By Jeff MeunierGuest Writer Papa Bill’s Old Fashioned BBQ restaurant, located on Highway 711, offers a free tea or lemonade when a UNCP student makes a purchase. The menu offers a very wide variety of foods such as ribs, fried chicken, burgers and pit smoked barbeque. Richard Brenner, a senior at UNCP, said that he “likes the way they prepare their sandwiches.” Brenner also said that he favored their hot hushpuppies. The restaurant is closed from Sunday to Tuesday, but that doesn’t stop students from visiting the place on the four days they are open. Donovan Sanderson, a computer science major, said it’s “some of the best barbeque around, and the barbeque ribs are real good with the Papa Bill sauce on it.” Papa Bill’s also has a drive-through, playground and indoor seating, complete with heating and air conditioning. There is only one Papa Bills’ in Robeson County, which is family owned, and many people in the community refer to the place as simply having good food. |
