Students now able to get wings at WOW

UNCP has added a lot of new things this school year. There’s the new football team, dorms, and classrooms and now a new Bert’s.
This fall World of Wings, also known as WOW, opened up in the James B. Chavis University Center.
The first WOW was located in New Orleans. In 2008, several other college campuses in the U.S. will have a WOW.
The Bert’s diner, whom many grew accustomed to in the past, has changed.
The smoothie bar, the Taco Bell Express and the galore of pizza have been replaced by newer things to attract hungry eyes and stomachs.
Not only did the name change, but so did the décor. There are new booths and tables for dining in. There are 14 plasma televisions in the café. Eleven of those are in the booths and two 42-inch TV’s hang on the wall. The TVs include DirectTV and every Sunday students can watch NFL games.
Another notable change is the new menu. It now contains quesadillas, salads, subs, burgers, chicken strips, wraps, and fresh chicken. To add a little spice to meals, there are 16 different sauces to choose from. For those pizza lovers, there is still a choice of pizza on the menu.
Many returning students were surprised with the change.
“There’s more space and it’s more convenient,” sophomore Zach Berti said. “I think everyone can agree with me, the wings are pretty good.”
Freshmen didn’t even know what all the fuss was about.
“I like it better than the cafeteria,” freshman Ayana Washington said. She also said she loves the buffalo grilled chicken wrap.
Taco Bell will return in the D.F. Lowery building. |
