The 2008 edition of the “Indianhead” yearbook, “At Every Turn,” is available from the yearbook office, Room 223 in the UC Annex, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. every day through the end of exam week.
Students must pick up their yearbooks in person and should bring a photo ID with them. Some copies of the 2007 yearbook are still available.
Yearbooks will also be available after the commencement exercises on May 3.
Some editorial and staff positions are still open for the 2008-2009 Indianhead. Information and application forms will be available in the yearbook office starting April 21.
The yearbook is pre-paid through student activity fees. All UNCP students who carried at least seven hours during both fall 2007 and spring 2008 have paid the full fee and can get a 2008 yearbook at no extra charge.
December 2007 graduates and others who did not take at least seven hours during one semester in 2007-8 have only paid half the fee. They need to pay an additional $11 to get their 2008 yearbook.
The Indianhead yearbook began the year with Editor-in-Chief Katrina Hampton at the helm. Managing Editor and Organizations Editor Jennifer D. Key assumed the Editor-in-Chief position during the spring 2008 semester and worked with Adviser Sara Oswald, Sports Editor David Torres, Photography Editor Tomika Brooks, and Photography Consultant Joel Beachum to complete the project.
People Editor Brandi Jones and Student Life Editor Maria Hockaday made contributions during the fall 2007 semester, and Administrative Assistants Marquita Malloy, Tiffany Schmidt, Paela Pani, Jessica Fox, Carolina Choi, and Yetunde Akindahunsi staffed the office throughout the year. Michele Johnson, Allison Ellis, Kiara Garret and Ike Anyachonkeya also joined the staff in the spring 2008 semester.
A major turning point this year was the move from the Dial Building, where the yearbook office had been located for more than 20 years, to a new suite of offices in the UC Annex. Oswald said that this year’s yearbook staff was exceptional and worked very hard to meet all the deadlines.
“I am proud of this group of students; without them it wouldn’t have been possible,” Oswald said. |
