Author, poet Ron Rash to illuminate writing process
Ron Rash, a fiction writer and poet, will give a public reading at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 1 in Dial 225, followed by a reception and book signing.
Students and the university community are invited by the Department of English, Theatre and Languages to attend his discussion about the writing process on Nov. 2 from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in Dial 225.
Rash currently is the John A. Parris Jr. and Dorothy Luxton Parris Distinguished Professor in Appalachian Cultural Studies at Western Carolina University.
His novels include One Foot in Eden, Saints at the River and The World Made Straight.
He has published three volumes of poetry: Eureka Mill, Among the Believers and Raising the Dead.
He has also published two short story collections: The Night the New Jesus Fell to Earth and Casualties.
