Life coach Francine Ward is keynote speaker for University Convocation
Francine Ward, author, success strategist and life coach, will be the keynote speaker for University Convocation on August 30 in the Givens Performing Arts Center from 10-11:15 a.m.
Opening a new chapter. In her presentation, Believing in Endless Possibilities, she will tell students they are at the end of a chapter in their lives and at the beginning of a new one, according to Melanie Clark, director of Leadership and Community Service in the University's Center for Leadership and Service.
Ward will ask students, "As you make the transition into full fledged adulthood, what will it take to create a successful experience? How will you handle the obstacles youÕll meet along the way?"
Needing a little motivation. Ward also will present Walking Through Fear: Strategies for Creating Success in the University Center Lounge the same day from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Clark said Ward's point will be "even the most self-actualized, self-motivated person could use a little motivation. Whether youÕre a freshman just getting started, a junior in the mid-life of college, or a senior ready to move on to the real world, there are strategies for creating a successful experience."
Ward will share the strategies that enabled her to create success in her life. The public is invited.
For students who attend, both of the speeches will count toward recognition credit in the Leadership & Service Opportunities Program (LSOP). They are co-sponsored by the Center for Leadership and Service and the Office of Multicultural and Minority Affairs.
This courageous speaker. Ward's website says she is "a former practicing lawyer, a success strategist, and a powerful motivator." It describes her mission as "supporting and encouraging people to walk through their fear in order to make significant changes in their lives."
The website says Francine Ward "has been in the trenches and come out on the other side." It reports she moved from being a "drug addicted, alcoholic prostitute, high school drop-out to Georgetown educated lawyer, successful entrepreneur, twice published author, philanthropist, and loving wife."
The site says her message and approach are simple-focus on taking conscious, consistent, courageous action and positive results will follow.
Ward is the author of Esteemable Acts: 10 Actions for Building Real Self-Esteem and 52 Weeks of Esteemable Acts: A Guide to Right Living.
Jack Canfield, co-author of the bestselling Chicken Soup for the Soul series and co-founder of the National Associate for Self-Esteem, says, according to the website, "Francine Ward's life is a testament to the fact that the most important thing we can do is to love ourselves and be fully authentic; only then can miracles happen."
