The Braves cheerleading squad placed second in the Cheer Limited’s CANAM National Competition on March 18 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
There were about 240 teams, but only seven were college teams.
The majority of the teams were high school and All-Star teams.
The Braves tied for first but the judge panel chose the opposite team, leading to the second place finish.
“The team and I enjoyed going to and competing in this competition,” Kevin Berotte, a cheerleader on the squad, said.
Berotte said he felt like the team did the best they could and feels there is always room for improvement.
“The team did great,” head coach Kristen Nusz said.
“This was a huge competition and I am really excited that our team did so well.
I think that they performed to the best of their ability and it showed.”
This was the first year competing in the event for the Braves. |
