Greeks step out during homecoming activities 2006

As part of the homecoming activities 2006, UNCP Greeks graced the stage in the auxiliary gym Feb. 4 and stomped, clapped and chanted their way through the evening.            

The gym housed a large crowd of UNCP students eager to see the shows that each fraternity and sorority had prepared. 

Six fraternities and sororities participated in the annual homecoming step show including Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.

Erin Berry, member of SGA, hosted the show starting the night by introducing the brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha.  Up first, the Alphas performed for a fresh, excited crowd. 

The ladies of Delta Sigma Theta performed third in the line-up.  The Deltas performed what seemed like a crowd favorite skit with a tribute to their brothers, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.  Dwan Hayes, member of the sorority, led the "Q-train" while her sisters followed the step behind her. 

Zeta Phi Beta also had a crowd favorite moment with their tribute to the fraternity Iota Phi Theta.  The ladies blind folded themselves and used plastic swords to imitate the fraternity's famous step.

The brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi took the stage second in the line up, with only three members to represent the group.  The brothers dressed in crisp red shirts and black pants with black suspenders. 

The ladies in the audience were offered a treat when each one of the brothers disappeared under a sheet and left the rest to the imagination. 

Pierre Dottery, member of the Fraternity, threw money on the stage prompting the rest of the audience to laugh.

Second to last in the program, the brothers of Phi Beta Sigma took a humorous approach to their show.  They used the famous drama, "Madea" as the theme of the show.  Fraternity member Cedric Barton played the main character, Madea.  Dressed in a long nightgown and a wig, Barton offered the crowd many laughs.

The brothers of Omega Psi Phi took the stage last and closed the show.
