Grad Finale was hosted by the UNCP Bookstore and Jostens on Oct. 17-18 for seniors graduating in December. Cap and gownUpon applying for graduation, a graduation fee is paid, which pays for the traditional graduation attire of cap, gown and tassel.Seniors unable to pick up their cap and gown at Grad Finale may pick them up at the Bookstore from Nov. 13 to Dec. 9. Aside from acquiring the cap, gown and tassel, students were given the option of buying graduation announcements, diploma frames, class rings and souvenir tassels. TicketsCommencement tickets were also given to each senior at Grad Finale.Each student was allotted five tickets. Seniors unable to pick up their tickets during Grad Finale can pick them up at the registrar's office. These tickets must be picked up no later than Nov. 30. Commencement timeIf extra tickets are available at that time, they will be released first come, first served, with a maximum of two extra tickets per person on Dec. 7 at 8 a.m.Winter Commencement will be held on Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. in the Jones Athletic Center. Graduating seniors have been asked to report to the Auxiliary Gym at 8:30 a.m. that morning. More infoGraduating seniors attending Grad Finale met with representatives from the Office of Financial Aid, the Office of Alumni Relations, the Career Center and the Graduate School to discuss their plans after graduation.These representatives urge seniors that did not make it to Grad Finale to drop by their offices to gather important graduation materials as soon as possible. The Career Center required graduating seniors to complete a survey regarding their time at UNCP, and more importantly what they plan to do next. The results of this survey will be made available on the survey page of the Career Center's website www.uncp.edu/career/survey/ | |||
