According to an e-mail sent by University Police, a student reported to police that someone had parts stolen from her vehicle while it was parked in lot #13. University Police have said they have been informed that the parts are being stolen to be sold as scrap metal.

In this student’s case, her car was left in the parking lot for about a week. When she attempted to start the car, it would not start. She then had a mechanic check her vehicle, and he discovered that her catalytic converter was missing; someone had cut it away from her exhaust system. Also reported in the e-mail was an incident of larceny that occured on Aug. 29, in which a student left her purse in the Student Center.

She later found her purse at the information booth, but her wallet was missing.
