ECU BRODY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE EARLY ASSURANCE PROGRAM 

The Early Assurance Program is a partnership between ECU Brody School of Medicine (BSOM) and UNC Pembroke whereby two of the 80 seats in the entering BSOM class are reserved four years in advance for outstanding students attending UNCP for their undergraduate program. Students selected as an Early Assurance student at BSOM will receive a four-year merit scholarship. The scholarship covers expenses including tuition, books, room and board (for on-campus housing only). North Carolina residents in the counties of Robeson, Hoke, Scotland, Bladen, Columbus and Sampson are eligible for the Brody School of Medicine Early Assurance Program. ECU DOCTORATE OF PHYSICAL THERAPY (DPT) PROGRAM 

The East Carolina Doctorate of Physical Therapy program will accept up to four UNC Pembroke graduates through an assurance program. The Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) is one of the most competitive programs offered by ECU only admitting 30 students, but typically receiving more than 300 applications. The DPT is a three-year, 106 credit hour program with 32 weeks of clinical experiences. The program only admits North Carolina residents. For more information, contact HCAP at 910.521.6673.

 

NC STATE 3+2 DUAL-DEGREE ENGINEERING PROGRAM 

Students enrolling in the 3+2 Dual-Degree Engineering Program attend UNCP for 3 years majoring in Applied Physics. After the successful completion of all requirements, students attend NC State University’s College of Engineering for 2 years to complete a second degree in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Students interested in the program will follow a set schedule of courses throughout their program and will receive additional support and mentorship during their 3 years at UNCP. Upon satisfaction of program requirements at UNCP, department staff will assist in the transition to enrolling at NC State for the final 2 years of the program. TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY PRE-VETERINARY MEDICINE SCHOLARS PROGRAM 

UNCP and Tuskegee University have established a Pre-Veterinary Medicine Scholars Program to be implemented fall 2017. This program will serve as a pipeline to prepare and inspire talented UNCP undergraduate students who wish to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Under this MOU, each year two qualified UNCP students from the Department of Biology will be guaranteed acceptance in the Tuskegee School of Veterinary Medicine. UNC SYSTEM VETERINARY EDUCATION ACCESS SCHOLARS (UNC-SVEA) PROGRAM

UNCP and NCSU have developed an agreement establishing the first-ever UNC System Veterinary Education Access Scholars (UNC-SVEA) Program, set to begin in the fall of 2017.  The program allows for two students, plus one alternate, from each first-year class entering the NC State School of Veterinary Medicine to be selected from the UNCP Department of Biology.  All UNC-SVEA Scholar students will be required to complete all academic requirements for a Bachelor of Science Degree at UNCP, as well as meet all academic requirements for admission to NCSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
