Are you ready for the Freshman Welcome Program? That’s what this next chapter in your life will be as a college student. We have a program designed to help get you started! All freshmen are required to attend the Freshman Welcome Program on August 12th and 13th, 2013.

You will receive a copy of the updated brochure at check-in. Below is a copy of the Freshman Welcome Brochure from 2012 but we are working diligently to confirm this exciting program for August of 2013.

During the Welcome Program on August 12th, you will enter the university symbolically, by taking a group picture with the Chancellor at the Lowry Bell Tower, then walking with the Chancellor over the bridge and into the Givens Performing Arts Center. There, faculty in their academic regalia will welcome students to Convocation, a formal ceremony that opens the university’s academic year. The entire sequence is a solemn and inspirational passage over the threshold into higher education, and it is not over until the recessional march has concluded. Please come that day mentally prepared to behave appropriately during these events, which are designed to put you into the right frame of mind for academic success in the coming year.
