Dear Student:

Congratulations on your acceptance to The University of North Carolina at Pembroke. We are pleased that you have chosen to continue your education with us and look forward to your arrival on campus.

UNCP is offering several New Student Orientation sessions for transfer students this summer: Saturday, May 17; Tuesday, June 17; Tuesday, July 8; Thursday, July 17; Tuesday, August 5; and Saturday, August 16. These one-day sessions are designed to acquaint you further with UNCP and the services that are available to you. You will also receive academic advising with regard to your fall (and summer) courses and will be registered for classes at the end of the day. Students registering for classes on August 16, 2008 must pay all costs by 5:00 pm on August 19, 2008.

If you have completed additional course work since your acceptance to UNCP, it is imperative that you have your most recent transcript sent to the UNCP Office of Admissions. You may pick up an updated transcript evaluation from the Admissions Office on your Orientation/Registration day. It is necessary that you have this process completed before you arrive to ensure proper advising and registration. You must have your final transcript evaluation with you at the Transfer Student Orientation. If you have questions regarding your transcript evaluation before Orientation, please contact the Office of Admissions at 910.521.6262. Students registering for ONLY on-line classes need to call Distance Education at 910.521.6367.

NORTH CAROLINA LAW requires all students enrolling in five or more semester hours to submit a copy of their immunization records to their respective institutions. Please submit a copy of your immunization records and the completed medical form (initially included in your UNCP acceptance packet) to the Office of Student Health Services. Return this form by July 1st if you are entering school for the Fall Semester. If you are entering The University of North Carolina at Pembroke for Spring or Summer Sessions, or in the case of late acceptance, you must submit this form within 10 days of your acceptance notification.

If you are a student with a disability and are requesting accommodations for placement testing, please contact Disability Support Services (DSS) at 910.521.6695. Notification of required accommodation must be submitted two (2) weeks prior to the test date. Failure to notify DSS in advance may result in accommodations for that day being denied and a reschedule of testing.

Please complete and return the enclosed reservation form with prepayment of the $35.00 (non-refundable) New Student Orientation/Registration fee (made payable to UNCP/Orientation) immediately. (A $25 fee will be charged for returned checks). In addition, Family Orientation sessions will be scheduled with the first five New Student Orientation/Registration sessions only.
