Dear Student:

Congratulations on your acceptance to The University of North Carolina at Pembroke. We are pleased that you have chosen to continue your education with us and look forward to your arrival on campus.

A University of North Carolina at Pembroke education is academically rigorous and intellectually challenging. Your first step toward success at UNCP will begin with New Student Testing/Registration on Saturday, January 3, 2009. All new students are required to attend New Student Testing/Registration on January 3rd. These placement tests will determine the courses in which you will enroll for the 2009 Spring Semester. The Math Placement Test allows for the use of any type of personal handheld calculator; however, the use of a calculator is not essential to successful testing. The University will not provide these calculators; you must provide your own. An advisor will assist you in registering for classes while you are on campus January 3rd. Students cannot register for classes until they complete the placement tests which will be given that morning.

Please complete and return the enclosed registration form along with prepayment of the $35.00 (non-refundable) New Student Testing and Registration fee immediately. (A $25 fee will be charged for returned checks.) Please be advised that students registering for classes on January 3, 2009 must pay all costs by 5:00 pm that day.

If you are a student with a disability and are requesting accommodations for placement testing, please contact Disability Support Services (DSS) at 910.521.6695. Notification of required accommodation must be submitted two weeks prior to the test date. Failure to notify DSS in advance may result in accommodations for that day being denied and a reschedule of testing.
