UNCP senior recognized for leadership, community service efforts

September 26, 2017

Courtney Boger, a senior at UNC Pembroke, has been named Member of the Season by the regional Circle K International organization.

The Carolinas District is comprised of Circle K clubs at 20 colleges and universities across North Carolina and South Carolina.

Boger is president of the Circle K International, a student organization at UNCP focused on service, leadership and fellowship. She is an education major and a member of the women’s soccer team.

As president, Boger has led the Circle K club’s efforts to support organizations such as Stop Hunger Now and the local Boys and Girls Club. In her hometown of Mooresville, she serves meals to the homeless at King’s Kitchen, a nonprofit restaurant in Charlotte.

Boger recently began her journey as a missionary, which she plans to continue after graduation. Over the summer, she spent 10 days in Ecuador leading a sub-group in the community of Bahia De Caraquez. This December she will travel to Chancay, Peru to participate in similar work.

Boger is the daughter of Jennifer Kee and Warren Boger, a 1983 UNCP grad and former member of the baseball team.
