River Voices presents a reading and discussion of “To Die Game – The Story of the Lowrie Band” will be held on the campus of The University of North Carolina at Pembroke on September 21.
This event is free and open to the public.
A reception featuring entertainment by Lakota John will begin at 6 p.m. at the Museum of the Southeastern American Indian. The panel discussion will held at Moore Hall at 7 p.m. The panelists will be Lawrence Locklear, Dr. Jamie Martinez, Steve Byrd, Kenneth Clark and James Pate.
“To Die Game” was written by William McKee Evans, a native of St. Pauls and professor emeritus of history at California State Polytechnic University.
