With the start of school a little more than a week away, UNC Pembroke’s entire Police and Public Safety Department participated in a two-day Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) that included live force-on-force training.

Officials from Richmond Community College (RCC) and UNC Pembroke signed four agreements on July 25 that will ease the transition to a 4-year degree for students with associate’s degrees.

UNC Pembroke cut the ribbon on the $29 million Health Science Building on Tuesday.

The building is 87,000 square feet and home to UNCP Nursing and Social Work departments and biology labs. It will allow the four-year, licensure nursing program to double in size to 200 students and add a master's degree program.

UNC Pembroke’s 2012 nursing graduates recorded a 100 percent passing rate on the national nursing licensure examination (NCLEX-RN).
