Getting off to a good start is important for college freshmen. For students with disabilities, it is even more important.
The Office of Disability Support Services (DSS) at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke offered a special orientation session for incoming students with disabilities August 18-19, two days before other students began arriving.
Loaded trucks, trailers, vans and cars jammed campus streets and parking lots, and parents sweated under heavy loads August 20 as freshmen moved into their residence halls at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
That was the scene at 8 a.m., and before noon, many of the 800 freshmen members of the Class of 2008 successfully moved in.
The School of Business at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke has selected three professors for director positions, according to Dean Eric Dent.
