Dick Vitale took his show on the road to UNC Pembroke April 11 and came away with a “BIG W, BABY!”

Vitale or “Dickie V,” as he is affectionately known by adoring sports fans everywhere, is synonymous with the immense popularity of college basketball and ESPN, the cable sports network where he works.

A Murphy, N.C., woman has connected three of the great interests of her life to an endowed scholarship at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

Business professor Dr. John Wei-Shan Hu of Taiwan spent two weeks in March on the campus of The University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

He participated in a faculty exchange program with UNCP’s sister university, Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU).
