The UNC Pembroke Board of Trustees authorized an offer to buy 4.3 acres of land. The vote was taken at a special meeting held Friday, January 16.

The parcel will cost $26,000 and is located on University Drive. It does not adjoin current UNCP property, but the University has its eye on other property in the area.

"We need to buy every piece of land we can around the University," board Chair Gervais Oxendine said.

"Especially on the north side," Trustee Dick Taylor added.
