UNC Pembroke set a school record with 159 student-athletes named to the 2012-13 Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll. The Braves also led the league with the most student-athletes on the honor roll, which released by league offices in Augusta, Ga., on July 11.

The Presidential Honor Roll recognizes all student-athletes of the 14 PBC member institutions who had a GPA (grade point average on a 4.0 scale) of 3.0 or higher for the academic year.

UNCP’s previous school record of 122 honor students was established at the conclusion of the 2009-10 athletic season when the Braves’ student-athletes also captured the first of two-straight PBC President’s Academic Awards. UNCP has sent a league-best number to the honor roll in four of the last five years.

It is the fourth-straight season that UNCP has been represented in the announcement by 100 or more student-athletes.

Nine of UNCP’s 16 varsity programs posted a 3.0 team GPA or better for the 2012-13 academic year, including a department-best 3.482 GPA by the tennis program.
