UNCP hosts 3rd Women’s Leadership Conference on November 4

YouTube vlogger Jouelzy will headline the 3rd annual Women’s Leadership Conference at UNC Pembroke on November 4.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Be Your Own Shero.” It will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the University Center Annex.

There will be workshops, speakers, discussion panels and networking opportunities that educate participants on leadership competencies relating to women’s issues.

The event is free and open to the public.

Jouelzy, the keynote speaker, is an author, writer and vlogger, known for her eponymous YouTube channel which addresses lifestyle issues that impact women of color from beauty, culture to technology. Her channel has garnered 170,000 subscribers.

Jouelzy also founded and written for the website SmartBrownGirl, which further empowers black girls and women with lifestyle posts.

The Women’s Leadership Conference is sponsored by the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership.
