Temporarily disabled
students will be rolling around campus a lot easier in the future thanks
to the donation of two wheelchairs from Healthkeeperz, a Pembroke-based
regional home health agency.
The wheelchairs
will be loaned on a temporary basis to injured students. Formerly, students
had to rent a wheelchair.
"We need wheelchairs
a lot more than you would think," said Cora Bullard, director of
Student Health Services. "We really appreciate this gift. Wheelchairs
are very expensive, this is a really nice thing for them to do for us."
"We saw a need
that we could fill," said Angie Revels. "We are always happy
to help the university."
Healthkeeperz is
a rapidly growing comprehensive home health agency serves 10 counties
and employs 450. The company has four major divisions, respiratory,
medical equipment, pharmacy and home health services including skilled
nursing, physical, occupational and speech therapy.
