Janette Hopper, Chancellor Meadors, Suellen Cabe and Donna Payne
chair of the UNC Pembroke Art Department, currently
has her artwork on display at the Chancellor's
Office on the fourth floor of Lumbee Hall.
The exhibit will
continue throughout the semester. The artwork is comprised of 10 oil
paintings and four watercolors depicting landscapes from the Michigan
and Montana areas.

Prior to Hopper's
artwork, the chancellor's office displayed portraits of former Chancellors.
These paintings will now reside in the Chancellors dinning room.
Attorney Donna Payne, Suellen Cabe, director of Institutional Research
and Pecouse Lucas, of the chancellor's staff, collaborated to coordinate
the art project.

A native of the
Pacific Northwest, Hopper's work has been displayed widely in the United
States and abroad. She became chair of the art department in July 2002,
coming to UNCP from Central Michigan University.
The exhibit brings
the outdoors to life inside the offices.
"I like to
bring the evocative aspects of the landscape to my work," Hopper
said. "I appreciate the chancellor's office asking me to exhibit.
