Terminal Degree Award
The "Terminal Degree Award" was developed to increase the number of full-time faculty who complete or pursue a terminal degree. This award allows faculty who are pursuing a terminal degree from an accredited program to request course releases and non-salary financial support. In an effort to further support these faculty, a series of workshops on a variety of dissertation issues are planned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To apply for a terminal degree award, faculty must meet the following minimum qualifications:
NON-SALARY FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Non-salary financial support may be used to help with the costs associated with pursuing a terminal degree, including travel directly related to the terminal degree, supplies, tuition and fees, books and other costs approved by the application review committee.
APPLICATION INFORMATION AND DEADLINES
The upcoming priority deadlines for applicants are:
Friday, March 27, 2009 for Summer Semester
Friday, June 26, 2009 for Fall Semester
Applicants in the early phase of degree completion can receive up to $3,000 a semester, three (3) times per year. Applicants in the dissertation phase can receive a maximum of $5,000 per year.
***Applicants attending a program operating on the quarter system can only receive funding three (3) times per year during the early phase of degree completion.
