Second Year Program

Summary

The NASNTI grant allows the Center for Academic Excellence to develop this program that is specifically geared toward Sophomore and Second Year students. This program, known as "Sophomore Connection," focuses on improving academic advising campus-wide, strengthening the tutoring program, offering programming specific to the Sophomore and Second Year student population, and connecting campus resources into one user-friendly Web site.

For more information on the "Sophomore Connection," please visit their Web site.

Area Advisors

In an effort to enhance the current academic advising system, eleven Faculty advisors were selected to serve in the role of "Area Advisors." There are three (3) advisors in the School of Business, three (3) advisors in the School of Education, and five (5) advisors in the College of Arts and Sciences. These Area Advisors receive additional training from the National Academic Advising Association, and they are available to meet with students in their area during expanded office hours.
