Strengthening Institutional Capacity for Student and Faculty Advancement
In October 2008, The University of North Carolina at Pembroke was awarded two years of grant funding to develop a Terminal Degree Program and Second Year Student Program. The Terminal Degree Program will provide support for faculty members without a terminal degree to pursue a terminal degree from an accredited institution. Eligible faculty members will be able to receive financial support as well as release time.
The design of the proposed project, Strengthening Institutional Capacity for Student and Faculty Advancement, is based on two goals that address pressing student and faculty needs:
Goal 1: To increase our capacity to serve our students by:
Goal 2: To increase the number of full-time faculty who possess a terminal degree and/or pursue a terminal degree by 15, thereby increasing the number of UNCP full-time faculty members with a terminal degree to nearly 76%.
For more information about these programs, call 910.522.5708, or email Mrs. Darcy Hayes, Project Coordinator at darcy.hayes@uncp.edu.
