Dr. emily orr

Originally from New York State, flutist Emily Orr is an adjunct instructor at Methodist University and the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. In addition, she is the lead teacher of the Instrumental Music Department at the North Carolina Governor's School East. Emily has performed throughout the Northeastern United States, at Alice Tully Hall, and on National Public Radio. Prior to graduate studies in flute, she was a public school band director in Chautauqua County, NY. Currently, she is on the Board of Directors of the Raleigh Area Flute Association, and is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda. Emily received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she was the 2004 recipient of the Outstanding Graduate Assistant Award for Excellence in Teaching. She also holds degrees from West Virginia University (M.M.) and the State University of New York College at Fredonia (B.M.).
